Welcome to Saint Luke Lutheran Church!

Thank you for worshipping God as one of the people of Saint Luke.

Visitors, a special welcome to you! We warmly invite you to join our family of faith. If you want to know more about Saint Luke, or if we can assist you in any way, please speak to Pastor Moody, Ms Cathryn, or any member of our congregation council.

A Nursery for children age 5 or younger is available for our 10:30 AM Service in the Parish Education Wing (through the doors on the right side of the Narthex-the side with the paintings of Mother and Child). Though children are always welcome at worship, the nursery is provided in case little ones get restless and begin to disrupt the worship of others.

All Worshippers, please sign the Friendship Register and check any appropriate blocks. Then pass it down the pew for others to sign. Use this tool to help Saint Luke Congregation meet your needs and to know when you receive communion; and to help you know those who worship with you a bit better.

About Our Services

Hymn numbers refer to the spiritual songs in the back two-thirds of our Evangelical Lutheran Worship Hymnal, the hardbound red book. WOV Hymn Numbers are the spiritual songs in With One Voice, the softbound blue book. Page numbers refer to our Liturgy (worship rite) in the front third of Evangelical Lutheran Worship Hymnal.

Holy Communion: All who have been baptized and instructed in the meaning of the Sacrament, and who will receive it as the real presence of Christ in, with, and under simple forms of bread and wine, are invited to feast at God's Table of Grace. Children not of communing age are invited to come forward for a blessing.

Means of Communion: At Saint Luke, we commune by intinction; that is, dipping the wafer into the wine. Those who have dietary problems with fermented wine are reminded that receiving only the bread is considered full communion in the sight of the Lord. For those who have dietary problems with wheat, small individual glasses of wine are available, and receiving only the wine is also considered full communion.

Coming to the Altar: Communicants come forward through the center aisle and go to the altar rail. At 8:30 a.m., you will fill in from left to right on your respective side of the altar. At 10:30 a.m., you will begin at the center, and fill in toward the side door. After you commune, you return to your seat through the side aisle. [People who prefer to use the ramped side aisle rather than the steps to come to and leave the altar may certainly do so.]
